Kananaskis Suspension Bridge Sightseeing Hike + Horseback Ride

Hike and hoof your way along breathtaking Kananaski’s trails.

Your adventure begins with an easy, round trip 6km, guided hike to the Blackshale Suspension Bridge. Along the way to the suspension bridge, your knowledgeable guide will inform you about the remarkable wildlife that makes this area their home.

At the Blackshale Suspension Bridge, you can explore and take amazing photos from high above the canyon! Do you dare to venture out onto the bridge?

Next, the tour continues to Upper or Lower Kananaskis Lake. On the shore of this turquoise lake, surrounded by towering mountains, you can enjoy a delicious charcuterie lunch and unwind in the sun before returning to Kananaskis Village.

Once you’ve completed the hiking tour, you’ll make your way to Boundary Ranch for a 1-hour horseback ride in the heart of cowboy country. You will ride through wooded trails, past glistening ponds, amidst the magnificence of the looming Canadian Rockies.

Tour itinerary:

• 9:30am:   Head out from the tour providers office in a comfortable shuttle
• 10:15am: Arrive at the trailhead. Hike to the Black Shale Suspension Bridge and back
• 12:15pm: Depart for the picnic lunch
• 12:45pm:  Lakeside lunch
• 2:15pm:    Arrive back at tour providers office
• 3:00pm:    Horseback Ride

Need to know:

• Transportation is not provided to and between canoe-horseback locations. You must provide your own transportation..
• Minimum age for participation is 6 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
• The tour runs rain or shine unless the guides deems the conditions unsafe for hiking / horseback riding.
• All trail rides are kept at a walking pace for your comfort and safety.
• One rider per horse.
• We don’t recommend riding during pregnancy.
• 225lbs maximum weight restriction.
• Please dress appropriately for the watch.
