Paddle Barrie Lake in a giant canoe - perfect experience for families looking for fun things to do.
Your adventure begins at the Barrier Lake Day Use Area. Your guide will provide a dry land paddling lesson, a safety briefing and then away you go.
You’ll then will climb into the 25' voyageur canoe and have a leisurely paddle along Kananaskis’ breathtaking Barrier Lake. Breath in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the 360-degree mountain view as you watch for wildlife.
Your voyage ends back at your vehicle, where you'll assist your guide to pull the boat out of the water and say farewell.
No previous canoeing experience is necessary.
What to expect:
- 9:45 am – You’ll meet your Guide at Barrier Lake.
- After being fitted for life jackets you'll head down to the water.
- Soak in the and beautiful towering mountains and fresh mountain air on your leisurely paddle.
- At the far end of the lake, you’ll get out onshore to stretch and try your hand at no-match fire building.
- 12:00 pm – You’ll return to the initial meet location and say goodbye to your guide and new friends.
