The Sylvan Lake Clue Solving Adventure combines the scramble of a scavenger hunt, the analysis of an escape room, and the fun of an adventure race. Your route includes many stops along the way, each with unique challenges, and clues to decipher.

Guided by your smart phone, you’ll work together as a team to uncover hidden gems and new pathways as you decipher a trail of clues and solve puzzles that lead you around Sylvan Lake.

This adventure is great for families, friends, and groups. You can race or enjoy the experience at a leisurely pace. It is entirely up to you!

Your Sylvan Lake clue solving adventure: The Lost Regatta. 

Explore the stunning lakeshore town  of Sylvan Lake as you use your deductive skills to solve a historical mystery!

Details have emerged of a great regatta that took place 100 years ago. It may have been the greatest race ever! YOU have been tasked with solving the clues to what actually happened that day. Are you up to the task?

• Start location:  Downtown Sylvan Lake

•  Start time:  It is flexible! Start any day any time. Just finish it before it gets too dark.

•  Walking distance: Approximately 3km on flat city streets and pathways. This experience is family and pet friendly.

•  Average time to complete:   Approximately 90-minutes.

•  What you need: At least one fully charged cellphone per team (we advise 2+). Dress for the weather and wear footwear suitable for walking around town.

How it works:

• Once you’ve registered and selected your start date with the tour provider, you’ll receive an email with instructions and access code. This is done after you’ve activated your experience on Breakaway Experiences’ website.
• Download the free App and use the access code to activate your adventure.
• You’ll receive a series of clues through the tour App. Each clue will guide you along an easy walk to a new location where you will have to solve a puzzle or find a hidden word.
• Suggested team size is 2 - 5 players. It is most fun when working with others to find and solve clues.
• Clues are written assuming you have no knowledge of the town and are sequential. Each clue has several components to look for to guide you towards that clue’s destination.
• Submit the correct answer and you will get the next clue. (Don’t worry – directions and hints are available but do cost you a time penalty!)
• Solve / decipher all the clues and solve the mystery!

Need to know:

• You are not required to purchase anything along the route.
• Please ensure that your cellphone is charged before you start. You are only required to use the phone for the App. Data plans are only used to activate the adventure and are not used during play.
• Additional phones may be added at no extra cost.
• Bringing a phone charger is a good idea if your battery is low or weak.
