Enjoy the incredible sights and sounds of a Rocky Mountains landscape after the sun has gone down.

Join your skilled interpreter on a starlit tour through a frosty forest, enjoy a hot drink in a mountain meadow and be awe-struck by the spectacular vastness of the milky way before your eyes.

Your winter stargazing adventure begins when you meet your guide in Kananaskis Village and get fitted with snowshoes and a headlamp. Once you reach the open meadow by the river, you can relax, take in the night sky and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate while your guide sets up the telescope.

As you traverse the snow-covered trails on your snowshoes, your guide will explain the mysteries of the sky above, sharing fascinating celestial stories and pointing out constellations. Far from city lights, the snowy winter landscape becomes the ideal backdrop for a magical evening. Whether you’re a first-time adventurer or a seasoned stargazer, this unique tour promises an awe-inspiring encounter with the cosmos.

You are welcome to bring a camera and tripod to try some astrophotography or you can just hang out with the group, look through the telescope and chat about astronomy.
