Beginning in the downtown core, this tour will take you to the edge of downtown via the famous Jellybean Row, and back again. From Water Street and Duckworth Street to Bannerman Park and the Colonial Building, you will be captivated by this beautiful city and it’s warm welcoming people.

Along the way, you will learn how the city was founded, why our government sits on the left, what makes it different from other Commonwealth countries, how yarn was turned into nurses, and where the city’s bright colours came from.

A few points of interest on the tour:

  • George Street – The centre of the city’s entertainment district.
  • Water Street – Where you can find the best in local cultural products.
  • The Anglican Cathedral - How many people are buried in the cemetery here? We'll never know...and we'll tell you why.
  • Jellybean Row – Its vibrantly coloured row houses give the city some of its distinctive colour. A must-see on a visit to St. John’s.
  • Bannerman Park- A beautiful example of 19th century public park design.
  • Colonial Building - Learn why the ruling party sits on the left and what happened here in 1932.
  • The War Memorial - Learn about what it was that brought people here in the first place and what keeps them coming back.
  • Harbourfront - Breathtaking views of the harbour and the narrows.
