Canmore Clue Solving Adventures

This unique and interactive game is your opportunity to explore and discover Canmore in a really fun way!

In teams of 2 to 5 people, you’ll follow a clue solving route through Canmore. Combine the challenge of an escape room, the excitement of a scavenger hunt and the added thrill of a race against the clock and you have much more than just a tour.

This adventure game is a brain-teasing voyage of discovery and is your ticket to finding secrets even the locals don’t know. Uncover Canmore hot spots, test your knowledge and have lots of fun!

You’ll receive a series of clues by on the free App. Each clue will lead you to a new location where you'll solve a puzzle or find a hidden clue. Along the way you'll uncover hidden places, visit local icons, and enjoy Canmore’s spectacular scenery. Whether you choose to race or simply enjoy the experience as your own pace as you tour Canmore is entirely up to you!

How it works:

• Once you’ve registered your adventure and selected your start date with the tour provider, you’ll receive an email with instructions and access code. This is done after you’ve activated your experience on Breakaway Experiences’ website.
• Download the free App and use the access code to activate your adventure.
• Suggested team size is 2-5 players. It is most fun when working with other people to find and solve clues.
• Through the tour, you'll receive a series of clues with each clue will leading you on an easy walk to a new location to solve the next puzzle or find a hidden word.
• Clues are written assuming you have no knowledge of Canmore.
• Once you submit the correct answer, you will immediately get the next clue. (Hints and directions are available but will cost you a time penalty!)
• Complete all the clues and solve the final mystery!

1. Around the World

An exciting & fast-paced puzzle-solving adventure set entirely in Canmore’s downtown! Scour Canmore for cunningly hidden countries as you help local a local singer recover the schedule for her next world tour. This is a great way to explore Canmore's shops and pubs.

• Start location:        Downtown Canmore
• Start time:              Start any day any time.
• Walking distance: Approximately 2km on flat sidewalks in downtown Canmore, Alberta. with lots of restaurants and shops along the route, with several optional game breaks.
• Average time to complete: 2-hours
• What you need:   At least one fully charged cellphone per team (we advise 2+) and footwear for walking around town. Dress for the weather.
• Family Friendly and Pet Friendly

 2. Smuggler's Blues

Help the North West Mounted Police unravel a 100-year-old mystery as you search the town for possible suspects in a 1920's smuggling ring. A familiy friendly fun combining Canmore's downtown with it's stunning viewpoints and rivertrails.

• Start location: Downtown Canmore
• Start time : Start any day any time.
• Walking distance: Approximately 3.5km on mostly flat roads and trails with some bumpy areas.
• Average time to complete: 90 - 100 minutes minutes
• What you need: At least one fully charged cellphone per team (we advise 2+) and footwear for walking around town. Dress for the weather. 
• Family and pet friendly

3. Unchained Melody

Explore the shops, trails and creeks of Canmore’s downtown and surrounding area. Unravel a series of puzzling and fun clues as you attempt to rescue a local heroine trapped in a mine. Are you up to the task? And more importantly, can you avoid getting distracted by great pubs and shops along the way?

• Start location: Downtown Canmore
• Start time: Start any day any time.
• Walking distance:  Approximately 3.3 kms on flat roads and pathways around town.
• Average time to complete: 2 hours plus lots of opportunties to explores, pubs, shops, and restaurants along the route.
• What you need: At least one fully charged cellphone per team (we advise 2+) and footwear for walking around town. Dress for the weather.
• Children: Not recommended for children under 12 due to length and clue difficulty. 

Need to know:

• You are not required to buy anything during the game. There will be opportunities for shopping and dining if you wish.
• Please ensure that your cellphone is charged before you start. You are only required to use the phone for the App - no internet browsing or photos. Additional phones can be added at no extra cost.
• Bringing a phone charger is a good idea if your battery is weak. You may charge your phone by speaking to the businesses at your scheduled breaks.
